University of Turku & Kotka Maritime Research Centre have welcomed the 2nd Edition last September 2019 at Turku – Finland with more than 50 experts coming from 10+ countries.

The third edition took place in Riga and Vilnius in September 2021 while the fourth edition dedicated to crises and logistics took place in the two Lithuanian cities of Klaipeda and Kaunas in autumn 2022.

The sixth opus in the Les Océanides series offers a wealth of food for thought to help readers better grasp the many issues facing the Baltic-Arctic binomial in the future.
The multi-disciplinary approach puts into perspective the complexity of the issues to be tackled, so that future developments can finally combine economy, ecology and society.

PERMACRISIS & LOGISTICS, edited by Emilija Pundziūtė-Gallois and Arnaud Serry, compiles a dozen contributions from over 25 teacher-researchers from 12 northern European countries, who met at the 4th Baltic Seas Conference, held in Lithuania in 2023. The Baltic space is a regional microcosm and a global laboratory for the issues and tensions observed in a general environment of permacrisis. This original work will serve as a reference document for the 5th edition of the BALTIC SEAS Conference cycle, to be held in Estonia and Finland at the end of 2024.
